The smile on Petra’s lips fades away and Mulan’s heart races. Oh no. She’s said something wrong, DONE something wrong. It’s a fleeting expression but it’s there, disappointment. She’s familiar with it thanks to her father. Her mother’s eyes are always kind, her grandmother’s always playful, but her father is more difficult to impress. She tries to reign her thoughts in, to ignore the disappointed expression she’d seen moments ago and keep moving. She quickly shakes her head. “No!” A bit too quickly. “ I’m— no, I’m not seeing anyone. I don’t know why I asked. ” Her cheeks are flushed pink, heart still pounding. It hasn’t dawned on her yet just how SMITTEN she is. “ I wouldn’t have anyone to bring even if I needed a plus one. ”
“ Oh. ” Brows raise, and the tightness that she’d felt in her chest eases up as it’s made perfectly clear to her that Mulan isn’t seeing anyone. A chuckle of relief and her features soften along with her posture. Petra tries to ignore the light flutter she feels in her stomach — has absolutely no idea where it’s coming from. ( What in the world is going on with her? ) “ Well don’t worry about it. ” she reassures with a light dismissive wave of her hand. “ There’s no need to bring a date. ” A beat, and then her curiosity pushes her to ask, “ Are you looking to? Dating — I could probably introduce you… ” she trails off, suddenly feeling a little bit awkward. “ I know a lot of people. ”

WRITING & REPLIES
If we're mutuals, feel free to write me starters, send me memes and/or come to my IM to plot anytime you want, regardless of whether or not we've interacted prior. I do have discord ( claire temple#1301 ), but I only use it for plotting and/or talking to people. Everything IC stays on Tumblr.
I'm slow. I'M SUPER SLOW. Sometimes I take days, sometimes I take weeks, sometimes even months to reply. If that's not okay with you then I'm probably not the writing partner you're looking for.
I don't mind winging things/testing dynamics without plotting, but I'd prefer to start out with only one to few liners for threads like those, then build on it. Please be mindful of this. Writing large chunks of paragraphs for someone my muse has no relationship with is extremely tedious and stressful for me.
If I write you a reply that you're not comfortable with, not sure how to reply to, etc., let me know and I'll be more than happy to change it for you!
I don't expect equally matched lengths for replies. Write however little or much you want! As long as there's something for my muse to react to, we're good.

MEMES
I'm a meme hoarder. I'll reblog memes, answer them a month or three later. Basically whenever I get an idea for it. So if you send me one and I don't respond immediately, that's probably why.
You can send me as many memes as you want at any given time. In fact, I encourage multiple memes, because I won't always get ideas for everything I'm sent and having options makes things easier. I also love meme spamming every so often. Don't ever feel the need to reply to anything I send you though!
I sometimes use memes to test potential dynamics between muses, so I don't mind being sent established relationship-type memes from those I don't have plots with yet, be it platonic, romantic, etc. I don't mind when other muns answer memes I've sent in the same manner.
SHIPPING & RELATIONSHIPS
Pre-established relationships are preferred. I find writing first meeting threads to be generally difficult for Petra, who isn't exactly friendly or interested in engaging in most conversations.

I enjoy interacting with multiple iterations of characters and I don't take issue with people writing other versions of my muse either. I'm comfortable with duplicates, but I know not everyone is so if you have any issues about it, let me know and we can talk about what we can do about it.
That said, I do have a list of muses that I'm exclusive with. I ask that you respect this and if I decide not to write with you, know that it's not personal and has nothing to do with you.

I will occasionally write about/touch on the following topics since they're integrated into Petra's canon: postpartum depression, post traumatic stress disorder, paranoia, cancer, abuse, kidnapping, miscarriage, death, murder, guns. If you're sensitive about any of these, please let me know in advance (at least prior to writing with me) so we can talk about how to avoid discomfort on your end. I'm open to writing with duplicate face claims from the JTV fandom, but unless discussed, I'll automatically assume that, for example, a character using a Gina Rodriguez FC does not look like Jane Villanueva.
